The Start of a New Year

We are thrilled that 2017 is here! This is going to be a great year here at Waters Edge. We have so much in store for you guys this year. We can’t wait to share all of our plans with everyone.  There is nothing quite like the craziness of the holiday season in this industry, so you will have to forgive us for our lack of blog posting during this busy season of business.

First, let’s update you guys about what has been going on here for the last month. We hosted a TON of company holiday parties. This was such a blast. The hustle and bustle of these events always manages to keep us on our toes. From redecorating, to arranging load in schedules for vendors, we were very busy during the month of December. We also hosted a Kate Spade themed 18th birthday party. We loved this! These kids were so well behaved, they did everything from karaoke, to dancing, and the birthday girl even gave an a capella performance. There was even a band that consisted of friends and family of our birthday girl. For a group of high schoolers, these kids had it going on.

Now, since the New Year has officially started we have hosted one event. It was much more somber in nature, as it was a celebration of life. This is not something that we are accustomed to, but we were thrilled for the opportunity to help this family celebrate their loved one. We had planned for 125 guests, but over 300 people showed up! These family members and loved ones took the opportunity to really surround each other in love. They released wish lanterns from the water front, and enjoyed time being together.

Moving forward into 2017, we have a few public events that we are getting excited about, and we hope you are too. First will be our Wedding Rendezvous. This is going to be a boutique style fashion show and open house. Guests will have an opportunity to meet with our preferred vendors, and see over 50 gowns and 20 tuxes! Shout out to Something Blue, and Alvin Tuxedos for providing the wardrobe for our models! And a huge thank you to Claudia with A Day To Remember, for helping us plan and design the whole event. We have plenty of other vendors to thank, but I will save that for our big after Wedding Rendezvous post! This is going to be a great event, so get excited, and get your RSVPs in to info@watersedge.events!

In the month of February, we will be hosting a Mardi Gras Party!  Laissez les bons temps roulez or let the good times roll! This masquerade cocktail style party, will feature the Bourbon Street Band, and great hors d’oeuvres. This event is always a huge hit and we cannot wait to have the community out at the venue to celebrate the season of Mardi Gras. February 17th, mark your calendars. Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $30 at the door! Check out our Facebook page to purchase tickets.

I hope this is a little bit of an insight into what we have going on here at the venue in the coming months. We are so excited and cannot wait to share pictures with all of you as soon as we can!

– The WE Team

The Techemet Holiday Party

The Waters Edge team had so much fun working with Techemet! We loved having their Great Gatsby themed party here at the venue! This crowd really thought about everything. From a game show, to poker tables, and a whiskey tasting, this party had all of the bells and whistles!

The whiskey tasting was a real treat. Techemet brought in a Whiskey Sommelier, Tom Fischer. Tom gave a great presentation on four different whiskeys Green Spot Irish Whiskey, Suntory Toki Whiskey, Wathen’s Single Barrel, Springbank 10 year old single malt. Tom was super knowledgeable about all things whiskey! He even has his own blog the, bourbonblog.com! We had a blast learning all about these four whiskeys from Tom.

The game show, BONKED, was hosted by a company called Funny Business. The company came in and put together a huge setup for their show. It was fantastic, the host CJ included party goers in the show and it held the attention of the audience at all times.

Poker tables really completed the Great Gatsby vibe of this party. Elite Casino Events brought in three poker tables that were placed on our covered patio. This was a huge hit that really brought the guests outside, even on a cold December evening.

Last but not least, Lush Flowers put together these fantastic centerpieces. They were huge! Giant silver vases, topped with beautiful white hydrangeas and roses, with feathers and pearls. It was fantastic. These centerpieces brought the whole Great Gatsby theme together.

We are starting a blog!

We are so excited to announce that we will now be blogging! This is the perfect place to have a glimpse into the events that are taking place here at Waters Edge.

Since our opening in August 2015, we have seen some amazing creativity from our clients and vendors. This creativity is exactly what we are wanting to showcase on our blog. We really want this to be almost like a real life inspiration board. Where guests can see what past clients have done, and what future clients are working on.

Be sure to check back weekly and see what we have been up to!
